The beholder, the human - ghost symbiotic vessel.
What is perceived by the eye is reality.
Reality is subjective. Objectivity an ideal.
The beholder filters awareness and perception through the physical
vessel.
The beholder decides what is real and what is not.
The gods call us a cosmic hobby.
It is the reality game.
I would like the reader to always keep this disclaimer in mind while
reading this material, “Nothing is true, and everything is permitted”.
The Belief System
Chaos magick uses the belief system as a tool. A means to achieve a goal.
This means create your own paradigm. Use intuition, imagination, sixth sense,
academic investigation, psychic awareness, gut feeling, synchronicity, signs,
omens, divination, or any method that works for you. Chaos magick deconstructs magick to it's essentials. It strips dogma and concentrates on the most effective and efficient method of achieving the desired goal or intent. A beholder's belief in a certain piece of reality serves a purpose. If I believe a certain thing it is more likely to manifest.
Reality is an illusion. This is the Hindu god Brahma. All is illusion, there
is only Brahma. Or shall we call it Ain Soph. Or the omnipotent God if you
wear the Christian costume. Maybe you would prefer the Absolute Everything
Which Also Includes Nothing. Call it what you will. It is not comprehensible by
human standards. From this source comes the programming / ether /
coding/ astral light /non - material substance / perfect idea of Plato. This
programming creates the universe we humans experience, or collectively agree
to experience reality. This program/ coding / astral / ether / orgone is where and
what the magician accesses to manifest his or her will upon reality.
Nothing is true and everything is permitted. Decide for yourself what is
reality because reality is subjective as far as the human condition goes. An
example of this text is my own belief in the Golden Dawn Tradition of magick,
the shamanism of my ancestral people, and chaos magick as a foundation. It
benefits this magician to take on a belief system that includes such things as
reincarnation, immortality, gods, astral projection, divination, psychic abilities,
everything is connected, UFOs, ghosts, vampires, the Secret Chiefs, the
Illuminanti, and so on.
This is where you write your own philosophies and religions to live by.
The long days of priests interpreting for the masses are over. You are
educated. You can read. You most likely possess intelligence. It is time for
each and ever person to interpret for themselves. It is time for self - initiation
and ordination.
Belief system is a placebo.
In grade school the teacher asked the entire class to sit in a circle. The
teacher would then whisper something in the first student' s ear, something
meaningless like, “The lady in the pink Cadillac stopped at the hot dog stand.
She wore her hair in a bun with yellow ribbons and likes extra mustard on her
hot dogs. She paid for the hot with extra mustard and drove home.” The
statement would be written on a piece of paper for the record.
The first student then whispers the same story in his /her neighbor's ear.
The neighbor whisper s in his /her neighbor's ear and so on, until the story has
been filtered and passed on through everyone.
By the time the story had reached the last student it would never be the
original story the teacher had presented. In most cases the story would not
even resemble the original at all. In this case it ended up being, “A girl in a
yellow car likes to eat corn dogs before she goes home.”
This is also an exercise used in many team building activities.
If in this micro setting the information struggles to be transfer red from
one source to another, what do we expect of humanity's generally accepted
histories.
The lie of history is a tool of the secret government. False history has
misled and enslaved humans more than anything before.
Voltaire said, “History is the lie commonly agreed upon.”
People are afraid to step outside of the herd mentality, to break taboo, to
go against the status quo, to answer their calling, their true will. Even the
rebels rebel together. The leader of the rebellion is the one to keep an eye on.
Every man, woman, and child is a leader and a follower. Every man, woman,
and child has a right to freedom and the pursuit of freedom and answering
their true will. True will is being in alignment with the universe. Good and evil
do not exist. They are subjective ideals. Evil is wastefulness and counter -
productive. Evil is not answering the true will and attempting to go against
nature. You are a part of nature. Evil is going against self.
In my experience with magick in practice I have had to conquer fear many
times over. Fear of god damning me for disagreeing the Christian Church. Fear
is insecurity. Fear of new knowledge that did not fit my previous belief system.
Fear of how others perceive me had to be conquered in order to answer my true
will.
A tool I've used in conquering fear is the Invocation of John Wayne. It's a
simply little prayer. I came across a quote of John Wayne one time, “Courage is
being scared shitless and doing it anyways”. I simply visualize the bad ass John
Wayne in a cowboy hat saying this with a southern draw. I step forward,
ignoring my fear, and do it anyways.
Let us remember the words of the Saint James Douglass Morrison,
“You're all a bunch of fucking slaves”.
We are trapped in the illusion of collective reality. We are trapped in
Malkuth. The physical and material. The trap is an illusion. The trap is a
limitation of perception and awareness. Initiation is a step outside the trap. It
is waking up. Opening the eyes. The symbolic death and resurrection.
Lazarus. Osiris. Choose an archetype /god of your understanding.
Take what is presented in this tome with a grain of salt. Nothing in it is
true but it is all permitted.
Is the cat in the box?
Reality
I came across this in a comic book and it felt appropriate.
From 'Majestic' DC Comics, issue number 3:
"The blind ignorance is shocking! I want to shake them, show them the
truth. Your world is the cultivation zone of an immense vehicle! The godhead
is merely that vehicle's programming unit! You're only here because over the
eons, the vehicle has been braking down, releasing you from stasis. Allowing
you to migrate into the deregulated areas of the ship. And sooner or later, the
entire system will collapse completely."
Existence in an unlikely occurrence. Nothing is more likely.
Nothing is true and everything is permitted.
Everything is true and nothing is permit ted.
Nothing is true and nothing is permitted.
Everything is true and everything is permitted.
Reality ain't what it used to be.
Reality is what we make it. We, humans, create reality. Magick works by
manipulating reality. The belief system is the tool which is used to manipulate
reality. The challenge is that the belief system is not an easy thing to change.
Humans create a consensus reality and the belief system becomes very solid
due to the sheer number of individuals who believe it. People become afraid to
step outside of the status quo and are often ridiculed by their fellow humans
when they do. Pick almost any significant historical figure exploring new
territory and this most likely applies to them. Think of the challenges and
receptions individuals like Jesus, Buddha, Aleister Crowley, Albert Einstein,
Mohammed, and the Wright brothers to name a few. Any “mad” people. New
ideas are the bane of conforming culture. Therefore if you want to make up
into down you must either overpower the consensus reality or skirt around it.
Skirting around it would be altering your own belief system. Over powering it
would be either changing a large number of people's minds or finding enough
significant cause for the effect.
For example, it took me a long time to shake the Christian belief system.
I was raised Episcopal and went to church and Sunday school almost every
week. Deeply programmed in my conscious and unconscious mind was
Christianity and with it came the Christian guilt of exploring the occult and
becoming a magician. The guilt and shame of sin and sex drive. The guilt and
shame of being a human. I was a practicing magician for some time before I
was able to shake the feeling that I might go to hell for not believing in the
crucifixion and the salvation of Jesus Christ. I was able to get over this malady
with a sigil titled, “Abruptio De Ecclesia”. My point is that it takes a lot to
change belief systems, especially ones that have been with you for a long time.
I tend to think of initiation as de- programming and reprogramming,
writing your own paradigm software.
Miracles such as the appearance of the Virgin Mary and stigmata happen
because enough people believe in the Christian paradigm. The same goes for
ghosts, big foot, Loch Ness, UFOs, and other supernatural or paranormal
phenomenon.
Magick models tend to work because enough people have invested in
them to give them sufficient oomph to get the job done.
Reality is subjective and we are the gods. Reality really does not exist.
We are here in the material plane for what purpose we don't always know. The
physical existence is a manifestation of the consciousness. The consciousness
is infinite and uses the physical existence to limit itself for some mysterious
purpose. Maybe it's just to play? Maybe life as an omnipotent and infinite
consciousness gets boring?
Am I saying that you can do anything? I think I am. I think therefore I
am. I think whatever I am.
If reality is subjective, then is self - reality? Reality is the self. What is
self? The interpretation of reality. The senses perceiving. Cognition. The
point where nothing and something touch.
My ego has been identified. Hm. I always thought I knew what it was,
and I did to a point, theoretically, but I had a moment of clarity and the ego
became very clear. The best description I have for it is "I". Every thought, every
word, and moment of internal and external dialogue. I don't really care for this
ego fucker. He's kind of selfish, greedy, and irrational. Just your basic ass
hole. Always taking charge and fucking it up.
I don't know why I'm babbling all this to you. It's a confession. An
experiment to see how people respond. I don't know and never do. I don't
know and hope I never do. The truth is a prison.
They(as always who are “they”?) say that when the student is ready the
teacher will appear and when the teacher is ready the student will appear. This
seems to be a natural law. When I began as a magician I could not find my way.
I could not find a teacher. I realized I must be my own teacher. Will to power.
Then later teachers appeared for me in several forms and unexpected manners.
I still don't know anything.
Duality is illusion. Existence is the chaos of the constant motion of
everything(all matter is made up of smaller particles which do not rest),
constant copulation created from the imagination of the All. This is Babalon
and the Beast. The true left hand path would be perpetuation of the illusion of
duality and interference with true will. This would be my definition of evil if I
were forced to acknowledge evil.
Existence was an unlikely occurrence. Nothing was more likely to occur.
Therefore everything and every action is unlikely, but it happens.
It's trying to order the chaos that causes the flop. The order is already
there. You just need a nearly infinite perception of existence and the universe
to see the whole picture. Otherwise successful living is about learning to surf
the chaos. Learning to trust in destiny and march forward.
All dreams mean something.
The further back(in)(up)(out)(down) you look at chaos, the more it makes
sense, more order is seen the bigger the picture gets. Chaos makes more sense
on a macrocosmic level than on the microcosmic level, but have faith because
as above, so below.
There may be too much emphasis in culture on maintaining order. Order
is a natural state. It exists whether or not we enforce it with laws, rules,
regulations, governments, restrictions, taboos, and dogmas. Theoretically this
adds to the plausibility of anarchy as a working system.
According to founder of analytical psychology, Carl Gustav Jung it seems
each sufferer of dementia praecox (a much more appealing term to my tastes
than schizophrenic, I just like the way it rolls off the tongue) suffers from a
subjective neurosis(also prefer that term). Each neurosis is specific to each
person. No repeats. Always some common characteristics, yes, but they're
more like snow flakes. To heal you must look at each case as an individual case
with it's own paradigm and world view.
You are a god. Behave as one.
Anarchy is chaos. The universe is in a constant state of motion. A
constant state of copulation. Everything, down to the tiniest particles, atoms,
protons, electrons is in constant motion. Everything is in constant flux. A
constant state of change. The serpent which consume s itself in a constant
circle. The sacred circle. Ouroboros. The snake which consumes it's own tail.
The cycle of nature. The eternal cycle of birth - life- death - rebirth. Creation -
destruction - recreation. This is the way of Horus and the Sun Gods. The gods
of resurrection. Jesus. Everything is swirling and crashing into itself and
everything else. The universe and everything in it destroys itself and gives
birth to itself in a constant act of creation and destruction. As with the idea of
physics, nothing can be destroyed, only transformed.
The Goddess is a part of the Holy Trinity which is the Father, Son, and
Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit). The Goddess is the moon and the Holy Spirit. Her
powers are three: creation, life, and death. Initiation is the symbolic death and
rebirth. Destruction / death is transformation. Nothing can be destroyed. You
are immortal. Everything is immortal. Death is transformation. Upon death
your consciousness is no longer but your higher self continues. There are
methods for retaining the consciousness, for those afraid of this ego being lost
forever. Ha.
The constant copulation of existence is the copulation of the Goddess
and God. The copulation is the attempt of order to tame chaos and chaos to
break free of order, the grand and poetic opus, the continuous cycle of creation
and destruction. She is mother nature.
Babalon, the Goddess, is within each man and woman. She is a soul
image, the anima, of the man. She is within each woman as the animus and she
is each woman. She is an archetypal woman within all.
What is Magick?
Magick is action. All action is magick, whether conscious or unconscious.
Magick is the will to power. Turning a door knob and breathing are both
magickal actions, but this is not what people tend to think when they think of
magick. The kind of action which usually comes to mind when the word
magick is uttered is the cause and effect which is not explainable with our
current level of scientific knowledge.
Many people turn to magick thinking it is an easy way to get what they
want. This could not be further from the truth. Magick takes discipline,
dedication, and a lot of work. The lazy and ignorant do not succeed with
magick.
The purpose of magick is fulfillment of potential, to let the ubermensch
out. Initiation is the opening of the eyes, the waking from sleep, the
remembering.
Magick is the natural psychic ability of the human or entity. To become a
magician is to hone that ability.
Magick is psychic and non- material /non- physical energies accessed
through the unconscious and a super - string effect directed by will.
How does magick work?
I believe that the action which can not be explained by conventional
means, magick, works by accessing non- material, non- substance energy. It
goes by many names: astral energy, orgone, ether, pure information.
Quantuum physics now puts forth certain ideas such as the foundation
of existence being non- material and the idea of string theory that everything is
connected. The butterfly effect being that every thing effects everything else.
Magick works by accessing this energy which I think of as coding like
DNA coding or computer language. The magician accesses this coding and rewrites or re- programs it to manifest his or her desire into the collectively
accepted reality.
The rewriting of reality takes place by altering awareness. The human is
limited in perception, alter this and access the energy, warp and bend reality.
The change in awareness is caused by exhaustion, meditation, ritual, orgasm,
extreme emotion, lack of sleep, the state between sleep and wakefulness, etc.
The ways I have accessed magick are through the use of sigils and ritual
invocations and evocations.
Nothing is true,
Everything is permitted,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law,
Love is the law,
Love under will,
As above,
So below,
Will to power,
And nothing else.
This statement is the philosophy of the writer of this text. It is a mosaic
of several magicians or magickal statements. Pieced together with intuition,
imagination, and synchronicity. Anyone familiar with magick is most likely
familiar with these statement s. The first part is “Nothing is true, Everything is
permitted” are the words of Hassan - i Sabbah of the Assassins, making it's way
into popular counter - culture via Brion Gysin. Hassan - i Sabbah was also know
as the Old Man on the Mountain. The Assassins were a Muslim esoteric group
who later became intertwined with the Templar Knights. The Thugs of India
were a spin off of the Assassins. Modern day chaos magicians often use this
statement as a base for their magickal philosophy.
“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, Love is the law, Love
under will” is of course from Saint Aleister Crowley's 'Book of the Law'. In this
writer's interpretation the will is the true will, answering your calling, what you
were born to do. “Do what thou wilt” is your will aligned with the will of the
universe. This is why “Love is the law, Love under will”. Love thyself and love
others, love the universe. To harm the universe or others is to intefere with
their true wills and in turn harm thyself.
“As above, So below” comes from the hermetic tradition. Originally from
the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus. It refers to the macrocosm and the
microcosm being identical. Meaning if you were able to draw out blue prints of
the universe and the soul they would be the same, only the soul's micro and the
universe's macro. An atom resembles a solar system.
The last part, “Will to power, And nothing else” comes from both Aleister
Crowley and Frederick Nietzsche. Aleister Crowley is referring to finding the
purpose of your life and pursuing it to the fullest. This is also in alignment
with Carl Jung's idea of answering your calling or vocation. Nietzsche is
referring to the making things happen through action. Exercising your will to
exact change upon reality.
In other words reality is in the eye of the beholder, the belief is the tool,
the means to an end, and magick is choosing to take an active role in existence
and make things happen. What matter s is action. The definition of magick is
to make things happen, will to power, every action is magick. This includes
everything from a heart beating to evoking the gods to piloting a UFO or
clipping your toe nails. Do certain things and certain things happen. It's not
always rationale, logical, explainable, or comprehensible.
This is magick and it is your god given birth right. It is a natural ability
like walking or talking or breathing or sexual intercourse. Due to the human
condition it is an ability that must be learned (or relearned) and practiced, just
like you learned to swim, ride a bike, or play a musical instrument.
Whatever you do, no matter what it is, do it to the best of your ability.
Don't waste time on excuses or procrastination. Will to power and nothing
else(first making sure you know what will is). Search and discover. Never stop.
Never stop growing. We are not human beings, we are human processes. Be
open minded, so open minded you are willing to give up everything you
previously believed in. Newton's apple could have been a lie. The world could
be flat. Nothing is true. Always be ready to admit error. Eternally re- write
your program. Changelings. Always in motion. Multi - dimensional with
multi - identities. Create your own religions and philosophies to live by.
The Magick Journal
Keeping a magick journal is very important. Most of the information in
this text was taken from my magickal journals. I wouldn' t have been able to
present to anyone without the record keeping, not even myself. Keeping a
journal in general is a healthy activity. It helps keep you in check. It helps you
know who you are, remember where you came from, and where you are going.
One must know thyself in order to answer the calling/ t rue will.
Keeping a magickal record strengthens discipline.
The conditioning of consensus reality urges the mind to forget
occurrences which do not conform to the consensus. If you don't have it
recorded in your magick journal it didn't happen. Record any significant things
going on. Weather, mood, events, synchronicities, any thing that you get the
feeling should be recorded. The phase of the moon, the time of the ritual,
whatever. The more detailed the better.
I recommend all magicians keep a magick journal because it's dangerous
not to. Two major pit falls I've encounter as a magician in practice that my
journal has helped me with are keeping the ego in check and keeping sanity in
check.
It helps with the sanity because you have documentation and when and if
you start to freak out that means it's time to ground yourself in mundane
reality for a while. In other words take a break from the magick.
My trouble with the ego has been having a feeling of omnipotence or self
importance. Always remember all humans are not equal in ability but they are
equal in value. As a magician or shaman or mutant or psychic or whatever you
label yourself we have a responsibility to serve our fellow humans. The
betterment of humankind is the betterment of self. True will is to flow with
nature. When going with true will contentment and fulfillment is the natural
result.
Magick Tools
It may be helpful and suit the magician to create magick tools. I have
found the most effective tool to be ones created by yourself from scratch but
this is not necessary.
The four most basic and traditional tools are the dagger, the cup, the
pentacle, and the wand.
A magick dagger can be a real dagger, a card board prop, a toy dagger, a
butter knife, etc. A purpose being to use it for drawing and manipulating astral
energy. Frequently used in banishment rituals. A wand (or even your index
finger) may serve this purpose. The wand I use is actually a chop stick.
Any magick tool should serve a purpose, to aid in the working with
magick. For example if you wanted to work with the elements earth, air, fire,
and water it may be helpful to have tools which represent these four element.
A cup of water for water, burning incense for fire, a rock or some dirt for earth,
and a whistle to represent air.
The planets could be represented by marbles or pictures or whatever you
can think of that corresponds.
The robe, for me serves the purpose of helping me get into the right
mind set.
The altar I use in a double black cube representing the typical as above,
so below, and black to represent how far I am from the light of knowledge. You
can make an alter out of whatever you have available such as a coffee table, a
crate, or a folding chair. The more subjective, sentimental, and symbolic the
magick tool the more effective it is.
The Magical Name
The chosen magical name of a magician is an important step. Take time
in deciding what it will be. The name is usually not of the magician's native
tongue. The more of a barbaric name the better. The less understood the
better. The name itself is a spoken and written sigil as well of long term intent.
The intent should be the spiritual and magical goal of the magician.
The simplest example being Saint Aleister Crowley's famous Perdurabo
which translates as “I will endure”.
The Barter System
It seems that many of the human processes of the star ship Earth have
become enslaved by money through such entities as corporations, banking
systems, and the federal reserve. It seems that a way out of this cage may be to
let chaos take charge of the situation because in chaos things work out on their
own.
In mathematics randomness is predictable. Chaos flows into order and
order into chaos. A way to freedom of money is a return to a barter system.
This could start with no longer charging interest or taking out loans and no
longer paying bills or buying things without actual hard money. Use dollar bills
instead of credit. Abolish plastic and electronic currency. If you don't have the
cash on hand don't buy or spend. This will help take down the restraint s of
money on every day people. If enough people do this it will aid in destroying
the banks and corporations that have such a strong hold on the world. Go out
of your way to support small businesses.
Once these examples and more occur a return to a barter system is
possible.
People are then more free to answer true will and calling.
People can become doctors out of a calling to heal people rather than
horde money. Lawyers as a desire to serve people and justice rather than make
money. Money no longer becomes the goal. Products, services, and production
becomes more efficient due to no ulterior motivation. Production and services
happen out of necessity and not for profit.
Example, cars and other vehicles are made more environmentally
friendly. They would use more efficient energy sources.
Money is not the meaning of life.
John Lennon said it best, “I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one”.
Voyeurism
At one time humans were very involved in tribal life. Every aspect of
tribal life took action. The shaman danced and invoked spirits. The people
participated in the ceremonies. Everyone in the tribe had duties and
responsibilities. A purpose. Something to do that benefited the tribe in some
way.
As a people we have left this behind and become a culture of voyeurs.
We sit and watch rather than participate. We sit in front of the television. We
watch movies. Let other people cook our food. Make our clothes.
It is time to get up off the couch. Turn off the video game. It is time to
set down the remote control and play the football game rather than watch it.
Stand up and dance and chant with the shaman. Will to power and nothing
else.
Magick Chivalry
Thou shalt know that all humans are equal in value if not ability.
Thou shalt answer the calling and true will.
There is no lack of knowing, only lack of remembrance.
The cliché, with great power comes great responsibility.
The Sigil
A sigil is a magick tool. It is a symbol representing intent. When charged
with gnosis or astral energy or ether or orgone it's intention manifests in
reality. A symbol is information. The information that makes up the sigil is the
intent. Information is non- material and nonphysical. DNA is a sigil. Coding,
such as binary language, is sigil work. The foundation of the universe is nonmaterial, nonphysical. The foundation of the universe is information, logos.
And in the beginning was word.
Plato's perfect ideas. Information. The chair instead of a chair. The one
great universal idea of chair. The archetype of chair. The foundation of reality
is non- material /non physical information / ideas / archetypes / coding. An entity
may take part in the coding of reality. This entity could be the human process.
A human being. A psychic. An artist. A magician. A shaman. A computer
program. A historian. A linguist. You or me. Or your neighbor or a
corporation. An alien, demon, or angel.
Thus you have eaten from the Tree of Knowledge. Knowledge is
information or idea. It is time to manifest your desire into reality or alter
reality or create your own reality or slip into alternate or parallel realities. It is
the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil because it is a powerful tool. More
powerful than an atomic bomb but not as easy for humans to access. It is the
power of mother nature. It is the power of the gods in the hands of humans
and other than human entities.
A classic method for a chaos magician to create a sigil is to write out a
statement of intent. Such as, “I get a new car”. Then cross out the vowels and
repeating consonant s then rearrange the remaining letters into an arcane
symbol. Forget the intent and do not think about the intent because it
interferes with the outcome. The unconscious mind will remember and take
care of business. Finally charge the sigil with gnosis or whatever your preferred
method.
When creating sigils the easiest way I have found to forget the intent is to
create several sigils and tuck them away for awhile. When next you take them
out, so many have been created that one can not remember any of the intents
of the sigils /programs. The unconscious mind has access to the infinite and
does remember the intent. Charge the sigils. Intent blossoms. Your desire
manifests in Malkuth (or where ever it is meant to). This is will to power.
This beholder of chaos has had much success with this classical sigil
method. Eye couldn' t help but experiment. Eye've found that a person may
create a sigil in just about any way imaginable. Through the use of symbolism
in art, stories, pictures, and the like. Examples of methods eye've used have
been writing a story filled to the brim with symbolism and re- enacting part of
or the entire story. Tattoos. Posting sigils on line for group gnosis. Eye've
used gnosis while in the act of sigil creation.
How to charge the sigil you ask? Easy. Masturbation works good. At the
moment of orgasm focus on the sigil and nothing else. That is effective magick
in practice, the ability to focus on one single thing at a time. Other methods
exist such as exhaustion through dance, frenzy, or exercise; meditation; trance;
focus of the non - material substance; intense and obsessive prayer; stillness of
mind; and whatever else you can figure out. Whatever works for you is what is
important. The idea is to access other than ordinary consciousness. In this
state you can fuel the sigils or any magical operation with the non- materiel
substance some times called astral energy sometimes called orgone some times called ether, it goes by many names.
The unconscious mind / higher self /ghost / spirit / soul /HGA has access to
the infinite. This is the connection the altered state of consciousness utilizes to
charge the sigil programs. Now will to power. Get up and move. Create.
Increase the Sixth Sense
Using a six sided dice, a piece of paper, and a pencil. With no thinking
write down the first number (one through six) that comes to mind. Don't think
about it. That's the most important part. Just blam. Write it down. Don't
think, just write it down quickly. Don't second guess. Roll the dice. Writing the
number down prevents you from lying to yourself. I've also done it with
witnesses and still writing the number down. I am at about a 70 percent
success rate with this exercise now, if I am well rested. In my belief system
time is non- linear. It's my perception that is limited.
Synchronicity
Another effective tool of the magician is synchronicity. Synchronicity is a
term coined by Carl Gustav Jung, the rebel mystic psychiatric would- be heir of
Sigmund Freud and founder of Analytical Psychology. Jung was a pioneering
psychiatrist and a mystic in the truest sense of the word. After being black
listed by the psychiatric community for his scandalous fall out with Sigmund
Freud, Jung experienced what he labeled the mid-life crisis (another term he
coined which has become a part of every day language in the western world).
Carl Jung acutely studied, experimented in, and explored the unconscious
mind, developing such things as the idea of archetypes, psychological types,
and the collective unconscious, to name a very few of his contributions. He
researches gave a hint of validity to alchemy, mandalas, and other psychic
phenomenon.
The origin of the idea of synchronicity is related to a story in which Jung
was working with a patient and discussing a relevant issue concerning the
appearance of a scarab in one of the patient's dreams. At a climatic moment a
scarab came to the window of the office interrupting the session. The
coincident had a profound effect on the patient (and Jung himself).
Synchronicity in not just a coincident, but a meaningful coincident. A
coincident which seems to hide some significant meaning. Examples would be
thinking, out of the blue, of some one you have not seen or communicated with
in a long time. Coincidentally you run into that person the next day, or receive a
phone call or letter or something of that nature. Or maybe you keep seeing the
same number over and over again and that number ends up having a significant
meaning for you later such as a date that something significant happens or a
winning lottery ticket number, etc. For the Discordians the number is often 23
or 5 or 17. In my own experience the number s is 11:11, 22, and 47 (11:11 is the
more frequent). I could go on for pages with varying examples. Most, if not all,
people have experienced synchroncities at some point in there life. We have
been conditioned since childhood to ignore this and the conscious mind does
it's best to deny it and forget it.
What synchronicity is, is the human' s (magician's) ability to access the
unconscious, supernatural, paranormal information, or senses. Everything is
connected, everything happens for a reason, and everything effects everything
else.
The perceiving of synchronicities is the same as seeing and /or sensing
omens or signs from god or the spirit world. Shamans of old often developed
this talent.
The effective use of synchronicity is completely subject to it's witness. It
is a cosmic poke to get your attention. It is the universe whispering in your ear,
“Hey, pay attention to this, pal.” It is up to the witness to interpret the meaning
of the coincident. The talent naturally improves with practice.
The magickal diary is of immense help in working with, recording, and
interpreting synchronicities. With meditation synchronicity can aid in the
decision making process. It is a cosmic compass.
A drawback of working with synchronicity is, “Where do i draw the line?
Where do I stop connecting the dots?”
The answer is that the dots never stop connecting, being being limited to
ordinary human consciousness most of the time the magician must choose a
point to draw the line or go crazy, stretched too thin, noting every
synchronicity he or she comes across. Once a person is aware of
synchronicities they tend to notice them more often with more ease and more
acceptance, eventually noticing them every day or even several times a day.
The key is to limit the noting and interpreting with the aid of intuition to the
most subjectively significant zero points of synchronicity. This common sense
with the use of synchronicity comes only with time and practice. It is the
responsibility of the magician to remain balanced and occasionally grounded or
flirt with burn out.
Astral Energy
Astral projection. Astral travel. Astral surfing. There are many
techniques to choose from. This beholder uses a pretty basic, straight forward
form.
An appropriate opening ritual followed by a banishment ritual (I use the
classic Lesser Banishment ritual of the Pentagram, the LBRP).
Middle pillar mediation (or whatever type of meditation works best for
you, every one is different).
Ejection of astral substance. This is an imaginary mercury(quicksilver)
type material /energy ejected from the belly button. An indestructible, infinitely
long silver cord keeps the astral form connected to the human thing. Don't
worry about the cord, it will always be there and never get in your way. If
broken you fully return to your body.
Formation of astral substance. The molding. Construction of
appearance. Astral substance seems to usually be shades of white, silver, or
gray. This can be whatever shape or form you can imagine and hold together.
Actually a human shaped vessel seems to work best, but do as you will.
At this point it must be decided if the magician is creating a astral
vehicle, a servitor, or just playing.
If working with an astral vehicle, the next step is transference of
consciousness into the vehicle. The amount of consciousness, essence,
cognition that is transferred to the vehicle depends on a variety of factors such
as experience in astral travel, mood, level of concentration, and weather, among
others things. Imagine yourself flying through a giant tunnel (the silver cord).
You are flying from one body into the other.
Once you have transferred a sufficient level of consciousness to work
with the adventures begin. Meet other astral travelers, astral garbage, astral
baggage, monsters, demons, angels, aliens, interstellar space ships, imaginary
people, talk to plants, visit other worlds. Play have fun, make love to some one,
explore. We are mad scientists of imagination.
The word orgone could easily be substituted for astral. The word ether
could easily be substituted for astral. Given time you may learn to see other
peoples astral energies, I imagine this is something like reading a person's aura.
It is possible to directly effect the material /physical world from the astral plane
or with astral energy. This human /ghost often uses astral energy to help
charge sigils, heal, and calm people down. If you don't like orgone call it ether.
If you wish to work with a servitor, simply imagine it's
program(instructions you give it) and send it out to perform it's task. When
you telepathically call the servitor back it will play back any information you
asked it to record. Servitors are like flying, remote control camcorder s. A
servitor can be thought of as a type of remote viewing.
If you are just playing/practicing with the
astral /ether / orgone / psychic / imaginary energy do what ever you want. Make
different shapes, squish them, just play with it like silly puddy.
Remember to have a goal every time you take magickal action. The goal
of play or practice is wise.
Frater Spiritus Existo Infinitus Dominus decided to create a focal point
for astral adventures. A focal point being a hide out, a safe spot, a haven,
asylum, your secret place, or a headquarters. The purpose being an astral
home of sorts. A place to relax or study. A place to just hang out.
This Frater modeled his astral headquarters after Superman's Fortress of
Solitude. Another safe spot is an imaginary apartment the Frater would day
dream about as a child.
Now let me share an experience in astral surfing. A safe spot existed in a
parallel universe. Initially when the safe spot was created the creator did not
realize that it was in a parallel universe. The safe spot had been modeled after
a pre - existing structure which exists in a parallel universe. Rather than simply
creating the safe spot, the astral adventurer found itself teleporting directly
into the other universe (Teleporting in the astral plane is relatively easy. In fact
you can fly all over and any where in the universe while in the astral plane).
Once the explorer realized what was happening, he went with it. Talking
up a storm, making new friends, and exploring. The mage began to feel very
comfortable in this other world. On one trip the astral traveler came across an
astral time machine in the safe spot. Curiosity killed the cat. The astral
traveler became an astral time traveler as well. The trips through time all took
place in the parallel universe, not the home universe of the astral traveler. At
one point the astral / time traveler came upon an entity that belongs to the
parallel universe. This entity was a slick character with a black shadowy face
and a purple, ragged robe. At this point the traveler took on the role of Faust
and agreed to an arrangement the confronting entity suggested. The deal being
that the entity would help the traveler in any way he could. The entity allowed
the traveler access to the entities resources (This entity is from the future of
the parallel universe the traveler was visiting). This entity seemed to be some
kind of deity/archetype of time. It hides at the end of time (when/wherever
that is), biding it's time, patiently studying us and others. I'm not sure what it's
real goal is. My end of the bargain is to let this entity follow me. In doing so it
began to force open portals or gateways from it's universe to the travelers
home universe. In other words the entity wanted to use me to get unto our
universe.
The traveler made a mistake here. It's that false feeling of omnipotence
that plagues magicians from time to time. The traveler knew that if this entity
succeeded in opening portals between universes it would not be a good thing.
The traveler did not know for certain, but suspected it to be an entity from a
race of beings who invade other dimensions and universes after doing plenty of
damage to their own.
In the mean time while this was happening, the traveler began
experimenting with entering other parallel universes doing much the same as
before. Just exploring, playing, meeting folks, being a voyeur, and practicing.
The issue with this exploration being that this malignant time entity was able to
follow the traveler into these other universes as well.
Each time the traveler went between universes the entity was able to send
some of itself or some type of energy along. Each time the threshold between
universes is crossed, the portal or gateway widens and strengthens, becoming
closer to manifesting in the material /physical worlds.
The transition between universes suddenly hurt the traveler. Each time,
upon leaving and returning home, a very sharp, broad, and intense pain spread
through out the lower and middle back. This developed to the point that the
traveler was unable to stand up or move.
Slapped in the face with his own selfish arrangement with the malignant
time entity, the traveler realized what was happening. The entity would
attempt to invade the travelers universe and all the universes the traveler
visited, until one day all parallel universes have been invaded. Something in
nature appeared to fight against this, causing the pain in my back.
The traveler entered all of the parallel universes he had been exploring
except for the home universe of the entity. The traveler took up a humble
posture and pleaded his case, asking for help and forgiveness. Some of the
beings the traveler had been talking to were disgusted and angry with the
traveler, with just cause. In the end entities from several universes were able to
pool there resources and force the time entity back. After the entity was forced
out of all the universes but it's own, the pain in the back of the traveler,
thankfully, subsided. It took a few days to completely recovery.
The up side to this is the knowledge, the adventure, the play, making
some friends, traveling between universes, and traveling through time within
some of those universes. The down side is that the traveler was unable to get
verification that the portals were closed. They were weakened. Now the
traveler and many others have volunteered to check on the portals from time to
time. Only a select few know the location of the breaches.
This incident forced the astral traveler to re-evaluate how he handles
these natural given abilities known as magick. They say with great power
comes great responsibility.
The incident did cause the astral traveler further contemplate Jack
Parsons' Babalon Working and the US Navy's the Philadelphia Experiment. Jack
Parsons is believed by some to have opened some kind of portal to other
places. With the Philadelphia Experiment some people believe that the
government was experimenting with either teleporting, time travel, entering
parallel universes or something similar.
Multi- personality
A powerful tool of the magickian is the idea of multi - personalities.
The Holy Guardian Angel is a persona of the beholder. So is Frater
Spiritus Existo Infinitus Dominus. Hermes - Thoth and Jupiter have become
personalities of the beholder due to the beholder frequently invoking both of
these godforms. Invoking is an intimate experience. This experience with
Hermes - Thoth and Baphomet are different names and facades of the same
deity/ force. The image of Baphomet, made popular by a drawing of Eliphas
Levi, is a hermetic image and between Baphomet's leg, in front of it's phallus is
the Caduceus. The goat represent s wisdom. Hermes - Thoth is a god of
wisdom.
Another powerful personality of the writer of this sentence is the Grey
Woman. She is the anima. The Grey Woman is love and life. She is earth and
water. The Grey Woman is fertility. This soul image known as the Grey Woman
has solid gray skin with a slight tint of silver. Just enough to give her a dull
glow. She looks moist but to touch her skin she is dry. This Grey woman is
curvy, soft, firm, smooth, strong, and powerful.
The Grey Woman has beautiful black eyes, like oil on water. She is a
goddess of secrecy and seduction. A goddess of grey, glamour, and illusion.
I am Fire Walker.
At the age of seventeen the writer attempted to commit suicide by
throwing himself into a bonfire. Future friends and acquaintances pulled the
lamenting adolescent from the fire before too much damage was done. The
writer was very drunk at the time of this incident. His hair was singed and his
clothes were burnt, luckily his skin was not damaged. On this night he also
played Russian Roulette with a friend and a .38, neither participant s died. The
bullet did not reach the chamber.
After that many people called the writer, “Fire Walker”. At the time he
hated being reminded of the horrible experience. As time has passed the name
has grown on him and he will answer to it.
I am Pe'ta Manipi.
The night I tried to kill myself turned out to be a symbolic death and
rebirth. From that moment on I moved on to a new chapter in my life. I lived
in a new town, missed my old friends, and I accepted something I had struggled
with since being a little boy. I am Native American and German American.
Indian. American Indian. Kraut. Fire Walker's birth right was to spend his
childhood torn between racism. To grow up a man of two worlds. He
experienced racism from white people because of his American Indian blood.
He experienced racism from his American Indian people because of his white
German blood. After the night of suicide attempt s the writer learned to be
both. He became proud to be called half - breed.
The number of possible personalities is limitless.
Another of the writer's personas is the Disco Shaman. At the age of 21
the writer began to explore shamanism of his people, the Inhanktowan, the
Yankton Sioux Tribe, the Dakota. The writer discovered that dance music was a
good way to induce trance. He wrote a poem naming himself the Disco
Shaman, and has been ever since.
Example of a Banishment Ritual
I normally use the Lesser Banishment Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP)
which is quite well known and easy to find. It seems to be something that was
originally put into use by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. I also like to
use the Banishment Ritual of the Hexagram (LRH) which also seems to have it's
roots in the Golden Dawn Magick System. A Thelemic banishment ritual is the
Star Ruby. Chaos magicians are known to use laughter as a banishment rite.
This is a generic skeleton of a banishment ritual. It is meant as a model
for constructing your own subjective banishment ritual and is based on the
template of the Lesser Banishment Ritual of the Pentagram. Take your time in
constructing the banishment ritual. Learn through trial and error. If you find it
easiest, just use the LBRP, the Star Ruby, or something like that.
Meditate with your eyes closed. Practice slow, deep, and relaxing
breathing. When you feel ready draw a symbol in front of use with astral /ether
energy. Turn 90 degrees and repeat until you have drawn four of the symbols
in a circle around you or your temple. Make sure the symbols are connected.
At this point strike a dramatic pose and chant /vibrate,
“Before me, (insert entity here and visualize entity),
Behind me, (insert entity here and visualize entity),
To my right, (insert entity here and visualize entity),
To my left, (insert entity here and visualize entity).
Around me flames or glows a circle of protection.”
You should be visualizing a circle of astral /orgone energy around you
connecting the chosen symbols making a complete circle. The ritual is
complete and you are protected by a magick circle. Proceed with further
intended working.
The LBRP uses four archangels in the four directions. In your ritual use
which ever entities you feel comfortable with and confident in their ability to
protect you and guard the boundaries of the circle. Possible examples of
entities / archetypes that can be used follow, feel free to use any you can think
of or create.
Example one of the four entities: Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Yule
Brenner, and Charles Bronson.
Example two of the four entities: William S. Burroughs, Brion Gysin, Allan
Ginsberg, and Neal Cassady.
Example three: Thor, Heracles, Gilgamesh, and Sir Gawain.
Example four: Saint Nicholas, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the
Groundhog.
Example five: Capain Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty.
Example six: Artemis, Diana, Athena, and Aphrodite.
The symbols used in the LBRP are pentagrams of protection. You can use
any symbol with significance to you. A circle, a square, a six pointed star, an
eight pointed star, a cross, the S insignia of Superman, etc. Simply draw the
symbol by visualizing astral /non - material energy using telekinesis, your finger,
a dagger, a sword, a wand, or whatever magick tool feel appropriate to you, the
user.
The most important aspect of ritual work is the alteration of ordinary
consciousness. Make sure the images you use have the ability to stimulate your
belief. The time and date of the rituals can also play an important role.
Magick Words
Magick words are strange or barbaric words that are used to aid in the
magician altering his state of consciousness. They are not words usually used
in every day dialogue. Words such as abrahadabra, aum, or Yod Heh Vau Heh.
These words are chanted or vibrated in meditation or ritual to push awareness
into other realms. Any word that has sentimental or subjective significance can
be used. Strange words, foreign words, and /or invented words seem to work
best.
As a mantra I have used the examples. Here are some more words used:
Lux, INRI, setmefree, Galabram, Adonai, arbahadabra, and seid.
Stillness of Mind Meditation
Strive for the mental experience of non- language, non- symbol, non-word.
Meditate with a stillness of mind.
Meditation with a clear mind, no words, no language, no symbol.
The requirement here is the ability of the magician to focus on a single
intent and nothing else. This is a requirement for most acts magical.
The stillness of mind.
Nothingness.
The root of all problems can be found in the fallacy of language.
Gnosis is the knowledge of God.
The Doors of Perception
“If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to
man as it is, infinite”. This is a quote from William Blake. An artist and poet
into all things esoteric. Aldous Huxley titled his book on mescaline “the Doors
of Perception”. It is a book about altering your perception of reality, altering
your awareness. 'The Doors', a rock and roll band of the 1960s took their name
from these sources.
The absolute everything also contains nothing.
Meditate on this.
Television Meditation
Turn on the television. Find a channel broadcasting a speaker of some
sort. Close your eyes to avoid being distracted by the speakers appearance.
Forget what the speaker looks like as you listen. Listen closely to what is said
by the speaker. The information, the articulation, the tone, the volume. Is the
speaker passionate? Genuine? Indifferent? What is the message the speaker is
attempting to broadcast?
Imagine that you are speaking the words coming from the television.
Imagine that you are the person speaking. It is your voice you are hearing. You
are inside the person's head, see the world through their eyes.
Meditate on this.
Television Causalities
Everything on television is broadcast by the same few entities, the secret
government. The elite wealth. Television programming is the programming of
your brain. It is a pacifier. A person burns more calories staring at a wall than
at the television. Turn off your television and do something else. Read, go
outside, create something, explore, think for yourself.
At the time of the infamous 9/11 when the twins towers were bombed in
New York City I became so sick of it all I shut my television off for two years. It
was an experience that changed my life. I felt myself grow stronger and
sharper mentally. I looked for alternative sources of information and
entertainment and found a plethora. I have since started watching television
again, but not often. I am very selective about what I watch and even treat the
news as strictly near valueless entertainment. The news broadcast on your
television is very far from objective reporting, especially in the United Snakes of
Americorp.
In a nod to Glenn Danzig, do not let yourself become a T. V. causality.
